Maggie always adored her daughter‑in‑law, Lara — kind, thoughtful, and genuinely loved by her son Dan. But one afternoon, when Maggie overheard Dan on the phone making plans for a secret date with another woman, everything changed.
Dan had always been the family’s “difficult” one — lazy, self‑centered, and constantly chasing attention on social media. Yet somehow he convinced Lara to marry him six months earlier.
